How was the Rules for members made?
Made by the Standards and Regulation’s Board under Article 18 of The Royal Charter. Also contained within Bye-law 5 of RICS Bye-Laws.
What is the scope of the members rules ?
1) Provides a Standard of professional conduct and practice.
2) Relevant to members
3) They do not repeat general legal obligations
4) Shortcomings or failure will not always provide disciplinary proceedings but may provide investigations
5) Guided as much by spirit of the rules as by the expressed terms
