What does Rule 13 cover?
The use of the RICS Logo
What is the latest version and effect date for the use by firms?
Version 4 effective from 1st April 2020.
Who is permitted to use the RICS loge?
A member or a Registered Firm.
What can a firm use but not a member?
A registered firm can use the RICS Registered Firm logo.
What are the requirements of using the RICS logo?
a) comply with the regulations board policy statement and RICS branding guidelines.
b) Comply with the rules of conduct for members and firms
c) Act in accordance with the obligations set out in the RICS Royal Charter and Bye-Laws
What are members and firms not allowed to do?
1) Alter the RICS logo.
2) Not use the logo in a manner that can have an adverse impact upon its status.
3) Not use the logo or designations which could bring the profession into disrepute .
4) Not to use the chartered surveyor designation in a manner that could have an adverse impact on its status.
What is the Guidelines for the use of the RICS logo and designations by firms show?
How to use the RICS logo. Stating colours, size and location etc.
How many logo options are there for a firm?
Two
What is the difference of the options?
1) To use the designated log itself.
2) To use the designated wording.
Why is it important for a firm to be regulated by RICS?
Clients can identify firms who are regulated by RICS.
When can and can’t a firm use the the chartered surveyor status?
Can use when more than 50% of the principles are chartered members.
Eligible of between 25% - 49% RICS Qualified members.
Ineligible - Between 0% - 24% of RICS qualified members.
What does RICS monitor?
Annual returns by firms
Client account visits
Holding clients’ money
Visit every three years
There is an annual levy
What other requirements are required with RICS?
1) CPD (Continuing professional development)
2) PII (Professional Indemnity Insurance)
3) CHP (A complaints handling procedure)
