What are the advantages of synthetic cordage?

  • Cheaper than natural fiber ropes
  • Lighter to handle than equivalent natural fibre cordage
  • Stronger than equivalent natural fibre
  • Relatively resistant to chemical attack by acids, alkalis and oils
  • High durability
  • Low water absorption
  • Resistant to rot
