What are the 6 key terms?
Roles= expectations of an individual or an organisation.
Responsibilities= requirements and duties of roles an employee is accountable for.
Job Description= internal document that states the essential job duties, job responsibilities and skills required to perform a specific role.
Induction Training= training a new employee receives when they start working with an organisation.
Mandatory Training= training an organisation is required to give to enable a staff member to work safely.
Briefings= meetings that provide up to date information to the staff.
What is the role of an employer?
These are organisations that provide service and employ a range of care practitioners.
Employers operate within a range of different sectors which can impact on the expectations of them.
They ensure compliance with the health and safety legislations.
They must provide a safe place to work, any necessary training and appropriate/safe work equipment.
What are 5 examples of employers?
NHS
Local authority
Third sector
Care manager or private care home owner
Headteacher and Board of Governors
