Ordering= quick and easy process (efficient).
Receiving= check all medication ordered has been received.
Storing= controlled drugs to be locked away.
Administering= ensure the right person receives medication at the right time.
Recording= use a medication chart to record dosage.
Transfer= medication has to stay with the patient if they are transferring settings.
Disposal= return unused medication to the pharmacy.
What is the procedure for lone working?
Tell colleagues where you are going.
Use an electronic diary system.
Carry mobile phone or personal alarm.
Take self-defense training.
Park a car in a well lit area.
Flagging system in place.
