RK: Plant Annunciator Flashcards
What does a repeating chime signify in the RK System?
Alarm
What does a ringback signify in the RK System?
Alarm Clear
What is the power supply for the Class portion of the RK System?
PKA or PKB
Does the Class portion of the RK System have a backup?
No
What does the ACKNOWLEDGE button do for the RK System?
Silences audible alarms
What does the FLASHER RESET button do for the RK System?
Changes alarm window from fast flash to solid for an alarm that is still in.
Changes alarm window from fast flash to slow flash for an alarm that has cleared.
What happens if an alarm reoccurs while the alarm window is in slow flash?
The alarm window will go solid with NO audible alarm.
What does the LAMP RESET button do for the RK System?
Changes a slow flashing alarm window to off for an alarm condition that has cleared.
What does the TEST button do for the RK System?
Tests alarms by simulating trouble contact actuations for all alarm windows on the associated control board.
How many First Out Cabinets are there?
2 on Board 4
One for the Reactor
One for the Main Turbine
What is the purpose for the First Out alarm function?
Permits the operator to differentiate between the first alarm received and any subsequent alarms
From where does the Reactor First Out cabinet receive its inputs?
The Plant Protection System
Can the Reactor First Out cabinet differentiate between a normal parameter and one that is bypassed?
No
If one parameter is in BYPASS in a tripped condition and another channel OF THE SAME PARAMETER trips, the Reactor First Out cabinet will think a reactor trip has occurred.
How does an operator know what the first alarm was on a First Out cabinet?
The first alarm will be flashing faster than any other alarms received
What is the priority for alarm windows in the RK System?
1 - Red - Rx Trips, ESFAS Actuations, LOP, PPS/ESFAS channel trips
2 - Green - Challenge to plant safety, unit or train availability
3 - Amber - mitigate potential radiation release
4 - White - early indication of system degradation
