Smaller and short lived floods with intense rain in a small area; doesn’t effect areas like towns or cities
upstream floods
long lived floods; huge amount of water; more devastating
Downstream floods
ground is impermeable that it collects water easily; water rises rapidly with little warning
Flash flood
