Definition and what it leads to?
A
Heart muscle damage- damaged myocytes
Causes reduced filling of the ventricles- less blood flows in so less blood is pumped out so this can lead to diastolic HF.

Investigations
A
- ECG- low QRS complexes
- CXR
- FBC +U&Es for haemachromatosis
- autoantibodies for sceleradoma
- B natriuretic peptide

Treatment
A
Medication: Beta-blockers, diuretics, ACEI,anticoagulants
Surgery: ICD, heart transplant
