Q

explain the process of glycolysis

A
  • glucose (6C) is converted to phosphorylated glucose (6C) using 2 x ATP
  • phosphorylated glucose (6C) is split into 2x triose phosphate (3C)
  • triose phosphate (3C) is oxidised to pyruvate (3C) producing 2x NADH and 4 ATP
(net production 2x NADH and 2 ATP and 2 pryuvate)
