  2. release
  3. go to sample place and capture as many individuals as possible after leaving suitable time frame for individuals to evenly distribute

Q

name 2 assumptions made about capture, release, recapture

A

stable population
(birth rate = death rate)

no marks rubbed off

organism were marked in a way that didn’t increase predation

marking doesn’t harm individuals

no migration

enough time given to allow individuals to evenly redistribute amongst the population

proportion of marked to unmarked in second sample is the same as proportion of mark to unmarked in the population
