-general inspection including lateral ask patient to lift arms up to the side
-barrel chest
-thoracic kyphosis (in or out bend) or scoliosis (side to side bend)
-Percuss excavatum or percussion carinatum
-scars
-radiotherapy tattoos
-erythema

Question 2

Palpating chest

Answer 2

-Check for chest expansion
>place hands on patients chest posteriorly just under rib cage (T12) and wrap fingers around side after expiration
> expansion distance should be >5cm
> check if expansion is symmetrical or asymmetrical

Percussion of chest

Answer 3

-in 6 on back 8 on front
-should be resonant over lungs

Aucultatation

Answer 4

In same areas as percussion, use the bell over the superclavicuar but the diaphragm everywhere else
Breathe in and out each time
