A
- Upland areas force air to rise and cool
- Moisture condenses into clouds and creates precipitation
- On the leeword side the air sinks warms and hold any moisture left
- This creates a “rain shadow area”

- Needed for irrigation of farmland
- Water avalibility and water demand are the main reason this prodject was needed.

- Farmland will be irrigated
- Huge water demand from 200 million people will be solved
- Cons
- It could be a boondoggle
- As China has so many droughts they may not be able tp supply as much water as they think they can.
- The water could evaportate in the open channels during transportation
- Wildlife and ecosystems have been badly disturbed
