what is the reproductive system?
the groups of organs that enable the successful reproduction of a species. in humans fertilization is internal with sperm being transferred from the male to the female during copulation

organs that produce and ejaculate sperm

testes, specifically in bodies called seminiferous tubules

what makes up semen?
fluids from 3 glands:
- seminal vesicles-secrete bulk of fluid (proteins, sugars, enzymes)
- prostate - alkaline fluid that counteracts the acidity of the vaginal tract
- cowper’s gland - secretes a protein- rich fluid that acts a lubricant
