What are the 4 inflammatory lesions assoc. w/ the testes?
mumps; TB; gonorrhea; syphillis
What inflammatory lesion may lead to orchitis? Who is most susceptible to this?
25% of mumps infections over age 10 get orchitis while less common in 10 or younger
Which inflammatory lesions may affect sterility?
syphilis > mumps (rare)
Where are you most likely to find a gonococcal infection?
if it is neglected then prostate, seminal vesicles and epididymis => RARELY TESTES
What are the 2 forms of syphilis and likelihood of involving the testes?
gummas;
diffuse interstitial/lymphocytic plasma cell infiltrate;
Both involve the testes
What disease is almost always associated with an infection of the same species elsewhere?
TB
