remote shutdown Flashcards
What range for reactor water level is indicated from the remote shutdown panel?
-160” to 140”
What does the P152 panel do?
Has “lockout transfer relay” switch to transfer control from control room to Alternate shutdown panels. It disables the Control Room from DIV 1 components
When the P152 panel is taken to ON, will auto initiations still function?
Not for div 1
What’s the purpose of the enable/disable switch at the remote shutdown panel?
bypass the 476/450 psig interlock for low pressure injection valves
What’s the purpose of the Remote Shutdown system?
Provides ability to shutdown reactor outside of main control room
What’s the purpose of the Alternate shutdown system?
Provides electrical isolation from the control room circuitry in the event of a fire
What can be controlled from P150?
- SSW A
- RCIC
- CRD pump A
- RHR A
a. SDC
b. Suppression pool cooling
c. LPCI mode
d. Reject to radwaste mode - 6 SRVs Div 1 A solenoids
What are the 2 remote shutdown panels and which ones go to which division?
P150 - Div 1
P151 - Div 2
What should be disabled before using the remote shutdown panels?
CO2 system for Div 1, 2, and 3 switchgear rooms
What can be controlled from P151 panel?
- SSW B
- CRD B
- RHR B
a. Suppression pool cooling
b. SDC
c. LPCI mode
d. Reject to radwaste
e. CTMT to flood mode - 6-SRVs DIV 2 “B” solenoids
What division does the alternate shutdown panels control?
Div 1
IF both “A” and “B” solenoids are disabled, how will they operate?
Safety only!
What happens to the interlocks when using the remote shutdown panel?
There are no interlocks
When Norm/Emergency switch is placed in EMERGENCY, does the control room have control or indication?
NO
If SRV’s handswitch is placed in OFF, on one panel (P150 or P151), will the valves still operate properly?
Yes using only signals from the other division
