Reliability of experiments Flashcards
Reliability
The extent to which a test produces consistent findings every time it’s done
External reliability
Whether the same test or measure if used again will produce similar results
Internal reliability
The measuring tool will get the same results
Ecological validity
Can the setting be generalized to real life
Test-retest
Way of measuring if a test is repeated it will produce similar results
Split half
Compare questions with other half of the questions to check for same level of difficulty
Inter-observer reliability
Check with multiple observers to see if they interpret behaviour the same way
How do we check reliability?
Check inter-observer reliability by CORROLATING observer’s scores.
