Mandatory supervision
Is for those crimes on the no early release act. Firstly, they must serve an 85% mandatory minimum. Also they’ll have to serve 3-5 years of parole upon release. 3 years is for 2nd degree crime and 5 years is for first. If u got convicted of both, you’ll do 8. It’s the thugs not pedos
Order of initial hearing/release process
Publication- parole tells the media, publishes the name, prosecutors ect
Mental health evaluation (lower scores are worse)
Pre parole package prepared by DOC. Gives details on their time in
Inmate summary
Victims do get input snd can speak to decision makers or submit a written or videotaped testimony
Decisions
All deciding to release or deny parole are made by a 2 member board panel. Murders need the full board. The 2 member board panel can enlist a 3rd to break a tie
Hearing officers role
They make the call completely if it’s an earn your way out act situation.
Other recommendations that they solely make on granting parole require an administrative review by 2 board members. But the board panel decides ultimately, as we know
