Results of investigations
Not a lot of “major disciplines yearly” most parolee complaints are “nonsense”
Major disciplines have to be put on the parole website. Not sure about about names of officers, that’s being figured out in court
Criminal complaints
Not all parole IA investigations involve criminality. If it does, then it goes to the prosecutors office or DCJ. They gotta investigate it or release it back to parole where they’ll interview officer
Use of force reports
Must be filled out of u use force. Fill it out by shifts end. Sergeant has to sign off on it and then it goes to OPS
Investigation jargon
Principle -person being investigated
Witness- not being investigated but they were there
RESULTS:
Exonerated- it happened but u were within your rights to do it
Sustained - it happened and further investigation will be required, u may have an issue
Not sustained -can’t be proven one way or the other
Unfounded- the allegations didn’t occur
Some off duty stuff
Accidental firearms discharged Must be reported. Doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in trouble at all
Keep weapons and vest secure
If u don’t know kingly hire a parolee, report it and don’t work with the company again
Can’t post bail for anyone
Falsifications
I went over some stuff it covers before. But This can also be if an officer lies to the IA folks in an investigation. Or say u did a visit and didn’t (never do this cuz it can get a parolee exonerated for a crime that they committed)
You can get Brady-giglio trouble for falsifying
PBIS
Parole’s big database for every parolee and it has case notes on all of them.
