What does Superior mean?
That a body part is on top/above another body part.
What does Inferior mean?
That a body part is below another body part.
What does Anterior/Ventral mean?
When a body part is more towards the front of the body.
What does Posterior/Dorsal mean?
When a body part is more towards the back of the body.
What is the Medial Line?
An imaginary line dividing the body into equal right and left halves.
What does Medial mean(BP)?
That a body part is closer to the Medial Mid-Line.
What does Lateral mean?
That a body part is farther away from the Medial Mid-Line.
What does Proximal mean?
When a body part is closer to the point of attachment.
What does Distal mean?
When a body part is farther away from the point of attachment.
What does Superficial/Peripheral mean?
Something is situated near the surface of the body.
What does Deep mean?
Something is situated more internally inside the body.
What is the Sagittal cut?
A cut that splits the body into left and right portions.
What is the Transverse cut?
A cut that splits the body into Superior and Inferior portions.
What is the Coronal cut?
A cut that splits the body into Anterior and Posterior positions.
