Body Systems(P) Flashcards
Purposes of the Systems
What does the Integumentary System do?
-Protects the body from outside harm
-Houses sensory receptors
What does the Skeletal System do?
-Gives the body structure and support
-Shields our internal organs

-Produces blood cells and stores inorganic cells
What does the Muscular System do?
-Contracts and pulls muscles all throughout the body to create movement
-Helps maintain posture and body heat
-Helps heart continue pumping blood through vessels
What does the Nervous System do?
Nerve cells send impulses to each other to communicate which has a short term effect on the target.
