Not taking the reins, or choking her with them.
Find the balance. Have an opinion and the confidence to voice it. She’ll appreciate your creativity when you come up with places to go and things to do. In times of conflict, danger, or stress, you need to rise to the occasion. How you do this is up to you, but a woman wants a man that can take whatever life throws at the two of you.
Taking her for granted
If this happens over a long period, take inventory. Don’t stay in a relationship out of convenience or until something better comes along. If being in a relationship is not a major plus in your lives, it’s better to be single.
Outwardly own the relationship.
Own the relationship- hold hands in public, change your status, and be careful how you introduce her, especially to other women.
Not addressing problems in the moment-
When conflicts arise, respectfully address them right away. Don’t let them fester and eat at your love and respect. Take the initiative and provide a solution fast, or get out.
Look outside your relationship for comfort-
Fix problems instead of entertaining a new relationship on the side which only confuses things even more, and is also immature and selfish.
Stepping back, but not far enough.
When you have a problem you can’t seem to fix, take a break to gain perspective. This doesn’t work if you continue to see each other even as “friends”. The point is to see if you miss them and want them in your life.
Not taking time
You need to spend time just her and you doing something you both enjoy together. If you can’t make this time, don’t get into a serious relationship until you can.
