What is flight visibility?
Visibility forward from the cockpit of an aircraft in flight
What are the minimum visual meteorological conditions for VFR flights in controlled airspace?
- Aircraft must be operated with visual reference to surface
- Minimum flight visibility of 3 miles
- Aircraft’s distance from any cloud minimum 500 feet vertically and 1 mile horizontally
- Minimum ground visibility of 3 miles
- Minimum 500 feet above ground
Right-of Way: Two aircraft at same altitude
Power-driven aircraft > Towing gliders or other objects and helicopters carrying slung load > Airships > Gliders > Balloons
Right-of Way: Two aircraft approaching head-on
