Ring or foramen fracture

A

Fissured fracture that encircles 💀skull in such a way that -ant1/3rd seperated at its jn with middle, posterior 3rd
- term applied to fracture which runs at 3-5cm outside foramen Magnum at back, sides of skull, middle ear ,roof of nose due to which skull seperates from spine

Contre coup lesions

A

Coup /blow impact - injury located beneath the area of impact caused directly by impacting force
Contre coup - lesions present in area opposite to side of impact

Whiplash injury

A

If vehicle hit violently from behind by other vehicle,
Head thrown back - hyper extension
Then comes forward - hyperflexion
# Violent extension- flexion movement cause dislocation of “ Upper cervical spine or lower spine or at C5-6”
