Reflecting Specific Functions (3.17.3) Flashcards
• Reflecting over the x-axis means that the y values will change signs. Any +y will become –y while any –y will become +y.
• Reflecting over the x-axis means that the y values will change signs. Any +y will become –y while any –y will become +y.
• Reflecting over the y-axis means that the x values will change signs. Any +x will become –x while any –x will become +x.
• Reflecting over the y-axis means that the x values will change signs. Any +x will become –x while any –x will become +x.
• When reflecting a function across the x-axis, change the sign of every term in the expression because they all are part of finding the y-value.
• When reflecting a function across the x-axis, change the sign of every term in the expression because they all are part of finding the y-value.
• When reflecting a function across the y-axis, change only the sign of every x-term because each x is becoming –x.
• When reflecting a function across the y-axis, change only the sign of every x-term because each x is becoming –x.
