  • Heron’s formula has two parts. For a triangle with sides a, b, and c:
  • Calculate s, 1/2 of the perimeter of the triangle, called the semi-perimeter: s=(a+b+c)/2.
  • Calculate the area of the triangle using s and the three sides: A=sqrt[s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)].
