The number or variable that is used as a factor in a power. For example, in the power A^n, the base is A (and the exponent is n).

The number in a power that indicates the number of times the base is used as a factor.

Grouping with Exponents:
A
A product of powers with a common exponent can be written as a single power where the base is the product of the bases and the exponent is that common exponent. Be sure to enclose the product of the bases within parentheses when grouping.
