Reecycling Flashcards
Once used, manufactured goods usually end up as waste at a landfill site
Recycling these manufactured goods will
will reduce the rate at which new resources are used
However, the recycling process does still require energy and water for:
Treatment of waste
Transportation of waste to recycling sites
Despite this, recycling is considered to be the first step towards the ambitious goal of a ‘circular’ economy what is the circular economy
an economic system based on the reuse and regeneration of materials or products, especially as a means of continuing production in a sustainable or environmentally friendly way.
What does a circular economy include
This means designing for durability, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling to keep products, components, and materials circulating in the economy.
