Receptors Flashcards
1
Q
α1
A
- Action : Smooth muscle contraction
- Causes: Vasoconstriction, Mydriasis
2
Q
α2
A
-Action: Inhibits NE release
-Causes: Lower CNS response
-Location: Sited in pre-junction of synapse
-Other:
α2 + sedative (eg Xylazine) stops NE release
Relaxes GIT – used in rectal exams
Inhibits insulin release – raises blood glu levels
Vasoconsriction
3
Q
β1
A
-Action: Acts on cardiac muscle
-Causes:
Positive inotropic – more contraction
Positive chronotropic – leads to tachycardia
4
Q
β2
A
-Action: Vasodilation – (Agonist = Clanbutyrol) Bronchodilation Uterus relaxation Liver GNG, GGL
5
Q
β3
A
-Causes: Lipolysis in fat tissue, but of much lesser importance
