A
Monoarthritis presenting acutely days-weeks post infection, Most commonly knee. (asymmetrical)
Urethritis/ Circinate Balanitis
Conjunctivitis/ Uveitis

Pathophysiology
A
Sterile synovitis following recent distant infection.

Organisms
A
Campylobacter/ Shigella/ Salmonella
Chlamydia Trachomatis

Investigations
A
Joint Aspiration - Seroloy/ Microbiology/ Crystal Examination
Elevated CRP

Examination
A
Red, hot, swollen joint, Reduced ROM

Treatment
A
Treat as septic arthritis until aspirate results back. (Iv Abx)
Treat infection
NSAIDs
Intra-articular joint injections
Oral Steroids
DMARDs if not resolved in 2 years. (usually HLA-B27 Positive)
