Presentation

A

Bilateral shoulder, Hip, Neck pain and stiffness.
Morning stiffness, lasting more than 30 mins
Fatigue. Malaise, Weight loss

A

Painful shoulder/ Hip
Reduced ROM
Muscle tenderness
Difficulty standing from chair/ Combing hair

Investigations

A

Positive CRP, ESR, PV
Take Temporal Artery biopsy if GCA suspected

Treatment

A

15mg Prednisolone, usually responds within 5 days. Slowly taper down.
Most require for around 18 months.
If symptoms relapse consider methotrexate
