RE III Alignment and stability Flashcards
Intensity?
The amount of weight or resistance imposed on a contracting mm during each repetition.
External stabilization?
Applied manually or by use of other outside force such as therabands, straps etc.
Internal stabilization?
Stabilization from within the body. ie abs stabilizing when doing a bilateral SLR
Volume?
The total number of reps and sets in a session R+SxI Reps + sets x intensity
The inverse relationship between sets/reps vs intensity of an exercise has what effect?
The higher the intensity the lower the volume before fatigue
How many reps at 75% of strength or 1-RM is the average adult able to perform before rest?
At 60%, 90%?
10, 15, 4-5
To improve mm str how many reps/RM should be used?
10 reps at 10-RM
Endurance training is achieved by?
3-5 sets pf 40-50 reps at sub max loads or isometric exercises for increasing amounts of time.
Fq of exercise?
The # of sessions per day/week
Duration of exercise?
The duration of an exercise program
What order should large/small, single/double joint, and higher/lower intensity exercises be performed in during a single session?
Large before small and double before single, higher before lower intensity
Mode?
The form of exercise, type of contraction, and manner in which it is done
ie dynamic/static WB/NWB and form of resistance
How does contraction velocity affect concentric contractions?
As velocity > force <
