A

Issued every 28 days which contains info that is of temp nature not urgent enough to warrant promulgation by NOTAM or contains extensive text or graphics that can’t be promulgated by NOTAM

Whats an AIC?

A

An aeronautical information circular. Contains informations which doesn’t qualify for inclusion in the AIP or NOTAM but which relates to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.

What does the Vol 1, 2 and 3 and 4 contain?

A

Vol 1 - contains all of the parts of general, en route and aerodrome parts including details of international aerodromes.

Vol 2 and 3 - General Instrument flight rules.

Vol 4 - VFR, the info from GEN and ENR parts relevant to VFR ops. AD charts and associated VFR procedures are included.

A

A

Every 56 days, following the ICAO AIRAC cycle which is every 28 days but every other cycle is missed out.

A

Series A ( domestic) NZFIR only

Series B (international) distributed within NZ and to selected overseas locations, contains info relating to operations by international and domestic operators within NZFIR and Auckland FIR.

Series A NOTAM, serial number, follow by year of issue.

Whats a NOTAM, when issued and how long do they last?

A

Notice to airmen which is used to show changes to operationally significant information that requires immediate spread.

Within next 24 hours from time of despatch.

Cannot be issued for a period longer then 90 days.

Whats a trigger NOTAM? When are they issued and how long do they last?

A

A NOTAM tissued 4 weeks prior to AIRAC effective date to notify of an upcoming AIP amendment or SUP that’s published. Just to remind people of the coming into effect of operationally significant permanent or temporary changes to the AIP.

And just ensures users to be aware of changes that may affect their flight.

Will remain in force for 14 days.
