Fuelling of aircraft

A

Must ensure that aircraft is not refuelled with class 3.1A flammable liquid when people are inside leaving or entering aircraft. Or when one or more engines are running.

You can fuel while engine is running with class 3.1D or C though.

A

Can’t operate AC unless registered, displays markings in accordance with requirements of

Part 47

Or appropriate authority of ICAO contracting state

or the appropriate authorising of another state thats in agreement with CAA.

A

No only for foreign AC operating within NZ and NZ registered aircraft operating outside.

How long must you keep a record for?

A

Yes. Operator of ac must have some way of measuring Daily flights.

Name of operator. PIC, other crew, rego, date of flight, purpose, time of commence t of flight, name of AD DEP, flight time.

Operation of restricted and danger areas.

A

Can’t operate in them unless has approval of authority responsible for RA. Complies with any conditions for it.

Can’t fly in DA unless pilot has deemed activity associated with it wont affect safety of AC.

Operation of LFZ

A

Can only operate during day only if receiving dual flight instruction or holds an instructor rating or is briefing on boundaries of LFZ and the method of entry and exit from LFZ is authorised by a FI.

And they’ve been briefed by owner of the conditions for the LFZ and complies with those conditions

Also must ensure that ac is operated without hazard to people and property and no pax

A

Can’t operate unless with approval of person in charge of that area and you comply with any conditions for operation within it and any given by the person in charge.

MBZ when must you make a call and what else should you do?

A

On entry and exit. When joining circuit. Before entering a runway. Any other time prescribe for MBZ.

A

By day or night (every) must not operate

Unless it’s active permanently during day. GAA is activated by ATC controlling it and pilot complies with requests by ATC.

Or if GAA is activated by notification and ATC unit has confirmed GAA is active.

A

Before flying must obtain and be famil with:

Met info for route,
fuel requirements.
Any alternates.
Any known traffic delays by ATS. Status of comm and nav facilities that will be used.
Conditions of aerodrome and runway lengths at aerodromes of intended use.
Any takeoff or landing distance data contained in AFM

VFR minima incl SVFR

A

Draw it up but

Class C,D, E - DIST FROM CLOUD: 2km horizontally, 1000’ vertical outside CTZ 500’ in.

Visibility - 5km below 10,000’ 8km above

Class F, G - DIST FROM CLOUD: below 3000’ AMSL 1000’ AGL whichever is the higher, clear of cloud in sight of surface and above is 2km 1000’ vertical

Visibility - 5km and 8km above 10,000’

VFR minima at AD in CTZ - 1500’ 5km

VFR minima at UN - day 600’ 1500m vis
Night 1500’ 8km

SVFR - 600’ 1500m vis. Equipped with two way radio comm, ATC clearance and instruction, during day and clear of cloud.

A

Over congest area 1000ft above surface of any obstacle within a radius of 600m.

Any other area 500ft bubble. (150m radius)

Flights over water

A

Flying over water each person on board must half life preserver accessible to person if nearest shore is more then gliding distance.

If going more then 100nm from shore it must be fitted with enough life rafts to occupy all pax, locator light, survival kit, 1 pyrotechnic, 1 ELT.

Can you operate aircraft with inop instruments and equipment?

A

Yes if a MEL has Ben approved for AC, certified for release to service with inop stuff, and is operated in accordance with every condition and limitation contained in MEL

Review of airworthiness

A

Can’t operate an AC unless its been certified airworthy within preceding 12 months or not operated for hire reward preceding 24 months.

Maintenance logbooks operation

A

Must provide appropriate maintenance logbooks for aircraft and ensure they’re not carried on aircraft.

Maintenance record operations

A

Must ensure for each component that has a finite life or a Time before overhaul (TBO) theres records of it in a maintenance logbook for TTIS.

Must also retain these records.

If involved in an accident must put detail of accident and the damage to the aircraft in the maintenance logbook.

Tech log operations

A

Must provide a tech log for recording following info:

-Name of operator.
-Rego, type and model of AC
-Identify of the maintenance programme or schedule required.
-Statement of maintenance status of AC incl next date of inspection or date or hours due.
- date or hours of any other maintenance due prior to next scheduled inspection date
- date of next airworthiness
-daily hours flown
- TTIS
- any defects found, rectification of these details.

How long must you retain your records?

A

12 months.
