Q

What is the restricted category?

A

Category used for specific operational purposes. Like aircraft for agricultural operations with a spray system that can’t meet some rules for passenger safety.

Will allow it but would mean that can’t carry pax with the spray system being fitted on.

Can you have both a restricted and standard category?

Q

What is the experimental aircraft? And how it works

A

Aircraft undergoing test flying.

Once test flight requirement is satisfied, aircraft will have a new airworthiness certificate issued in one of the other categories.

If AC has been modified, might need to undergo a flight test programme under the experimental category before being issued again.

Q

Whats amateur built aircraft? And its intended use

A

Been for the most part been built by the owners. Where it has completed a flight evaluation process under experimental category then have a new airworthiness certificate issued in amateur built.

For private recreational sector where the owner is the AC builder and operator. Allowing for innovation and creativity without the need for compliance to an airworthiness standard but will have more restrictive operating conditions.

Q

Restriction of microlight and can you move categories and what happens if you do?
