Presenting symptoms of viral hepatitis + common RF in history ?
-> Sx : N&V, anorexia, myalgia, lethargy, RUQ pain
-> RF : foreign travel (Hep A), IVDU (Hep B)
Common examination finding and cause of congestive hepatomegaly
- Only causes pain if stretched !
- Cause : congestive heart failure
Common presentation of biliary colic
- RUQ pain : intermittent, begins abruptly and subsides gradually
- Attacks occur after food
- Nausea

Female, fat, forties, fair
Common presentation and examination findings in acute cholecystitis
- RUQ that is more severe and persistent than biliary colic
- Pain can radiate to back or right shoulder
- Examination : fever and +ve Murphy’s sign

what is gallstone ileus ?
Small bowel obstruction secondary to an impacted gallstone (a fistula forms between a gangrenous gallbladder and the duodenum)

Abdo pain

- Persistent biliary colic associated
- Anorexia
- Jaundice
- Weight loss.
Examination findings in cholangiocarcinoa
- Palpable mass in RUQ (Courvoisier’s sign)
- Periumbilical lymphadenopathy (sister mary joseph nodes)
- Left supraclavicular adenopathy (Virchow node)
Presentation of acute pancreatitis and common features of history
- History = alcohol or gallstones
- Severe epigastric pain
- Vomiting
Examination findings in acute pancreatitis
- Tenders
- Ileus
- Low grade fever
- Periumbilical discoloration (Cullen’s sign)
- Flank discolouration (Grey-Turner’s signs)
Presentation of pancreatic cancer
