ADVANTAGES:
-Allows the research of things that wouldn’t be ethical for the experimenter to control e.g. depression

DISADVANTAGES:
-Demand characteristics nearly always present as Ps know they’re in a study
-Can’t manipulate IV so hard to establish a cause effect
-Participants not randomly allocated so likely to get participant variables
