  1. 100% inspection - all units in the batch are inspected
  2. Normal inspection - through a sampling plan
  3. Reduced inspection - using a sampling plan requiring smaller sizes

  1. Non - destructive testing - the product is tested until it shows signs of failing e.g cracking
  2. Destructive testing - where the product is destroyed under controlled conditions
