Q
Beliefs
A
- There is something of God within everyone, therefore oppose all threat to humans
- THEY EMPHASISE THE SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE OF GOD RATHER THAN PHYSICAL CEREMONY
- Priests and rituals are an unnecessary obstruction between the believer and God
- God is everywhere, every day, so he is holy all round, therefore there should be no holy day to celebrate him
- A direct, loving relationship with God can be had without involving a priest or minister
- Quakers do not regard the bible as the ‘word of God’, and value all spiritual books
- Quakers do not celebrate holy days, eg. Chjristmas or easter
- Quakers do not believe in being told how to worship, so reject the clergy. Quakers lead their own lives, and pray in silence
- Okay so listen to this one coz this ones quite good. Quakers believe that instead of adopting Christian traditions as a means of worshipping God, they should try find their own path and worship them in their own way do develop themselves spiritually
- BEST POINT SO FAR. CHRISTIAN PRACTICES INCLUDING EUCHARIST AND BAPTISM HAVE NO EAL MEANING, AND ARE SOMETIMES DESCRIBED AS EMPTY FORMS, having NO REAL SIGNIFICANCE
- This one is the fucking best. Quakers neither practice baptism or the Eucharist, because they argue that NO ACTIVITY IS MORE IMPORTANT AND SACRED THAN ANOTHER.
NO PARTICULAR RITUAL IS REQUIRED TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH GOD, so sacraments are not performed by Quakers
- EvERY DAY IS AS SACRED AS THE OTHER
- No collective view on life after death
- Quaker worship does not follow a liturgy
