- Messengers of God
What did Angel Jibril do?
- Relayed the Qur’an from God to Muhammad
- Guided Muhammad throughout his life
What did Angel Mika’il do?
- Angel of Mercy
- Rewards righteous people for their good
- Responsible for rain, thus water
What is the significance of Angel Jibril to Muslims?
- Jibril communicated Qur’an to Muhammad from God
- Essentially brought spiritual nourishment from God’s words
- So important, because Muslims would not be loved by God otherwise
What is the significance of Angel Mika’il to Muslims?
- Rewards people
- So therefore Muslims are motivated to live well and act morally well
- Mika’il is loved for brining rain and water to Earth, making Muslims feel that they are loved by God, therefore worshiping him more
Nature of Angels?
- No free will
- Pure and sinless
- Created by light by God
- Messengers of God
- Can take Human form
What is predestination in Islam?
- Some Sunni Muslims believe that God has DETERMINED everything that will happen in our universe
- This means that we have no free will
Human freedom in Islam?
- Shi’a Muslims believe God knows everything that will happen
- So we still have free will, but God knows what we will decide
- God is the creator of Time, there is no past present of future, so God knows everything that will ever happen or has already happened
What is the Day of Judgement?
- God Judges everybody from the rights and wrongs in their life
- He makes a decision and sends them to eternal paradise or hell

Significance of belief in Life after death?
- One of the six articles of faith for Sunni Islam
- Encourages human responsibility and accountability
- Urges people to act well and morally good so they can go to Heaven
- Poor are saved because of donations from Zakah and Khums
- For people who have suffered in their life, there is better to look forward to
What is Risalah?
- Belief that prophets are an important channel of communication between God and Humans
Significance of Prophets
- Provide a method of communication between God and Humans
- This allows us to know how to live by God’s desires, meaning Muslims can develop a full relationship with God

- “He created you from dust… Behold!”
- First prophet
- Same story as Christianity pretty much
Significance of Adam?
- God gave him understanding, which he passed onto the rest of Humanity
- God revealed to him, how Muslims should repent for wrongdoing and how to live life
Who is Ibrahim?
- “God took Abraham as a friend”
- Prophet Muhammad was a descendent of Ibrahim
- He is a role model due to his obedience to God, kindness and compassion
- Nearly sacrificed his Son to God, showing obedience
