QRH manoeuvres Flashcards

1
Q

approach to stall

A
  • hold control column firmly
  • disengage A/P A/T
  • smoothly apply nose down elevator to reduce the AOA until buffet of stick shaker stop (nose down stab trim may be needed)
  • roll in the shortest direction to wings level
  • advance thrust levers as needed
  • retract the speedbrakes
  • do not change gear or flap configuration
except for liftoff if flaps up, call flaps 1
  • check airspeed adjust thrust as needed
  • establish pitch attitude
  • return to the desired flight path
  • reengage A/P A/T if desired

Q

RTO

A
  • clearly announce STOP -simultaneously
  • close thrust levers
  • disengage AT
  • apply max brakes or verify the RTO autobrake
  • raise the speed brake lever
  • apply reverse thrust up to the maximum amount consistent with the conditions
  • continue maximum braking until certain the airplane will stop on the RWY
  • when stopping assured
  • start the movement of the reverse thrust levers to reach the idle detent before taxi speed

-after the engines are at idle, move the reverse thrust levers to full down

  • park the brake and do the alert order “ATTENTION ALL PASSENGERS REMAIN SEATED AND AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS”

Q

GPWS Warning
- “ PULL UP”, “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP”
- “ PULL UP”, “OBSTACLE OBSTACLE PULL UP”

A
  • disengage A/P
  • disconnect A/T
  • aggressively apply MAXIMUM thrust
  • simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20 degrees
  • retract the speed brakes
  • if terrain remains a threat, continue rotation up to the pitch limit indicator or stick shaker or initial buffet
  • do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured
  • monitor RA for sustained or increasing terrain separation
  • when clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate
  • after the recovery maneuver is complete, the airplane position together with the MSA must be crosschecked

Q

TCAS RA
5 seconds to respond

A

if maneuvering is required
- disengage A/P
- disconnect A/T
- smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy the RA command

  • follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action

Q

TCAS RA in landing configuration

A
  • disengage A/P
  • disconnect A/T
  • advance thrust levers forward to ensure max thrust
  • call for flaps 15
  • smoothly adjust pitch to satisfiy the RA command
  • follow the planned lateral flight path unless contact with the conflicting traffic requires other actions
  • verify a positive rate of climb and call “gear up”

Q

Upset recovery Nose High (ATR)

A

Recognize, Confirm, Breath

  • disengage A/P
  • disconnect A/T
  • apply nose down elevator. apply as much nose down elevator as required to obtain a nose down pitch rate.
  • apply appropriate nose down stabilizer trim
  • reduce thrust/ roll to obtain a nose down pitch rate
  • approaching the horizon, roll to wings level
  • check airspeed and adjust thrust
  • establish pitch attitude

Q

Upset recovery Nose Low (URAT)

A

Recognize, Confirm, Breath

  • disengage A/P
  • disconnect A/T
  • recover from the stall, if needed
  • roll in the shortest direction to wings level
(If bank angle is more than 90 degrees, unload and roll)
  • apply nose up elevator
apply nose up trim if needed
