A rare bone dysplasia characterised by osteosclerosis and short stature.

What is the radiographic appearances of Pyknodystosis ?
A
1) The distal tufts of the phalanx’s get reabsorbed.
(absence of distal tufts)
2) Skeleton is dense.
3) Narrowed medullary cavity.

how would you differentiate between pyknodystosis and infection ?
A
Infection will have soft tissue swelling and the reabsorption would be a random distribution not just the distal tufts.
