What is Osteomalacia and how is it caused ?
A
It is referred to as Soft bone disease and is caused by too much non- mineralised osteoid.

What is the most common cause of Osteomalacia ?
A
Renal Osteodystrophy/ a lack of vitamin D.

What is the Xray appearance of Osteomalacia ?
A
This is the same as Osteoporosis. you may see Pseudo fractures/ incomplete fractures (they will have a sclerotic and irregular edge).

What is Osteomalacia called in children ?
A
Rickets.
