What is Osteomalacia and how is it caused ?
A
It is referred to as Soft bone disease and is caused by too much non- mineralised osteoid.

What is the most common cause of Osteomalacia ?
A
Renal Osteodystrophy.

What is the Xray appearance of Osteomalacia ?
A
This is the same as Osteoporosis. However in rare cases you can see additions of Looser’s fractures in the scapula and pelvis.

What is Osteomalacia called in children ?
A
Rickets.
