Pulmonary Pressures Flashcards
PASP equation WITHOUT PS and what are the steps?
PASP = 4(V tr)² + RAP
1st → CW- PSAX AV - TV - PEAK VELOCITY - SYSTOLE
2nd we evaluate IVC = RAP
3rd we calculate
PASP equation WITH PS and what are the steps?
PASP = [4(V tr)² + RAP] - [4(V ps)²]
1st → CW- PSAX AV - TV - PEAK VELOCITY - SYSTOLE
2nd we evaluate IVC = RAP
3rd → CW- PSAX AV - PV - PEAK VELOCITY - SYSTOLE
What is a NORMAL RAP?
0-5 mmHg
What are the RAP Norms?
IVC ≤ 2.1 > 50% collapse 3mmHg
IVC > 2.1 > 50% collapse 8mmHg
IVC ≤ 2.1 < 50% collapse 8mmHg
IVC > 2.1 < 50% collapse 15mmHg
What are the PASP Norms?
Mild PHTN: 36-50 mmHg
Mod PHTN: 51-70 mmHg
Severe PHTN: >70 mmHg
How can you calculate % of collapse?
eye ball or
widest diameter - smallest diameter x 100
widest diameter
What is the PADP or PAEDP equation?
PADP = 4 (PI EDV)² + RAP
What are the steps for finding PADP?
1st. CW - PSAX AV - PV - EDV - DIASTOLE
2nd. we evaluate IVC for RAP via M Mode or eyeball
What are the PADP Norms?
Normal ≤ 12 mmHg
PHTH > 12 mmHg
What is PAC and what determines it?
-used to find MPAP
-time from the start of pulmonic flow to peak velocity
-with the PW SG in the RVOT proximal of PV
List the steps to acquire a PAC
PW - PSAX AV - RVOT prox of leaflets - PAC- SYSTOLE
What is the most common MPAP REGRESSION equation?
MPAP = 79 - (.45 x PAC)
What is the 1/3 2/3 MPAP Equation?
MPAP = ⅓ PASP + ⅔ PAEDP
What is the TR MPG MPAP Equation?
MPAP = MPG on TR jet + RAP
What is the PEAK PI MPAP Equation?
MPAP = 4 (MAX PI velocity)² + RAP
