Abnormal Color Doppler Flashcards
What is MITRAL STENOSIS
MV does not open wide. Restricted in its opening and blood volume has to go thru smaller space at higher velocity
What views can we detect MITRAL STENOSIS?
- A4
- A3
- A2
What would velocity would indicate MITRAL STENOSIS?
> 1.3 m/s
Draw EKG and Waveform for MITRAL STENOSIS
What causes a loss of steepness in MITRAL STENOSIS waveform?
since blood is moving through a smaller hole, volume needs to be continuously pushed to maintain the continuity of flow
CW, PW OR BOTH for MITRAL STENOSIS?
CW
( both for normal )
What is MITRAL REGURGITATION?
MV is leaking when it’s closed, due to hole/defect
In what views can you find MITRAL REGURGITATION?
A4 , A3, A2
Draw EKG and Waveform for MITRAL REGURGITATION
REMEMBER MV WILL BE CLOSED
CW, PW OR BOTH FOR MITRAL REGURGITATION?
CW
What is LVOT OBSTRUCTION
opening in LVOT is narrowed, could be due to hypertrophy of septum
In what views do we find LVOT OBSTRUCTION?
A5 or A3
What would the velocity be if LVOT OBSTRUCTION?
> 1.1m/s
Draw EKG and Waveform of LVOT OBSTRUCTION
PW, CW OR BOTH FOR LVOT OBSTRUCTION
PW for location but then CW for velocity
