What is active listening?
The process of sending feedback to the speaker to show literally and emotionally that you understand them.
What are the 6 other ways to respond after listening?
- Advising - help by offering a solution
- Judging - evaluating the speaker’s situation
- Analyzing - offering an overall interpretation or opinion of the big picture
- Questioning - ask sincere questions
- Supporting - revealing solidarity to the speaker; you are there for them

According to Conversational Intelligence what happens?
While listening to speeches or conversations, we ‘tune out’ every 12 to 18 seconds so that we can process what people are saying. In other words, our internal listening and dialogue trumps other people’s speech.
