What is social cognition
How we interpret analyse, remember, and use info to make judgements about others in different social situations and the social world.

First impressions are formed based on physical appearances and non-verbal cues. We believe that appearance and behaviour reflect personal characteristics.
what is attribution?
An evaluation made about the causes of behaviour and the processes of making this evaluation. The cognitive process of attribution follows three distinct steps
what is Fundamental attribution error
Our tendency to explain other people’s behaviour in terms of internal factors, while ignoring possible external factors.
what is personal attribution?
Explanation of behaviour due to the internal characteristics of the person involved. We tend to blame the person for causing the behaviour.
what is situational attribution?
Explanation due to factors external to the person involved. We tend to blame the situation for causing the behaviour.
