- denial- give written information and treatment options

- bargaining- listen with attention and encourage the pt to express their feelings

- orientation- ask for date or season
- registration- say 3 objects and ask the pt to repeat them back
- attention- ask pt to count back from 100 by 5’s
- calculation- same as attention
- language- follow a command, name something you point at, write a sentence etc.
