What is psychoeducation

A
Papworth 2013: any information or materials that are designed to provide the client with knowledge about their condition, including:
Descriptions of the problem
 - diagnostic categories
 - common symptoms
 - case examples

It should enable the client to understand/know that the diagnosis/treatment is relevant to them

What prevents clients with anxiety coming forward?

A

The nature of anxiety means they feel others may judge or that they themselves think something more sinister is going on for example: intrusive thoughts vs voices
People with anxiety, because of the nature, also think they are the only ones- no one understands
