Conventional vs atypical antipsychotics
Atypicals have less risk of extrapyramidal side effects i.e less unwanted
Pros and cons of atypical antipsychotics
Less pyramidal SE (e.g unwanted movement)
but
weight gain (olanzapine esp, agraunocytosis clozapine)
Risk of VTE/stroke in elderly clozapine
