A
- Dry and older skin
- Scabies
- Urticaria
- Atopic eczema
- Dermatitis herpetiformis
- Lichen planus
- Pemphigoid

What are the systemic conditions that cause pruritus?
A
- Iron deficiency (koilonychia, pallor)
- Lymphoma (nodes, hepatosplenomegaly)
- Hypo/hyperthyroidism
- Liver disease (jaundice, spider naevi)
- CKD
- Malignancy (clubbing, masses)
- Drugs (statins, ACEi, opiates, antidepressants)

What are the work-up investigations to consider for pruritus?
A
FBC, ESR, ferritin, LFTs, U&Es, glucose, TSH, CXR

What is the treatment for pruritus?
A
- Treat primary disease
- Emollients
- Sedating antihistamines at night may be helpful
